Can the Range help with a bulging or herniated disc in my neck?

Yes. Tightness in the muscles around your head, neck, chest, and shoulders can contribute to a disc bulge or disc herniation in the neck. These can occur over time as the result of spending a lot of time with a forward head posture. This misaligns the cervical spine, where more pressure is placed on the vertebrae and the discs and increases the likelihood for this injury.

To restore the alignment of your neck, releasing tension in the suboccipital muscles at the base of the skull and along the back side of the neck is important. Doing so will get these tense muscles to finally relax, allowing you to better engage the muscles on the front of your neck to bring you back into a better posture. This better aligns the joints of the cervical spine and can reduce the pressure felt on the discs and nerves. Releasing tension in the chest and in the shoulders would be very helpful for improving posture and alignment.

The Range, formerly the Nuckle, has already helped so many people address their neck tension and reduce pain related to a bulging or herniated disc. However, every person's situation is unique. No matter what your history or symptoms are, consult with your healthcare practitioner before initiating any new tool or treatment.
