Can the Mark help with scoliosis?

Tightness in the iliacus and psoas muscles (your hip flexors) can contribute to developing scoliosis. These muscles connect directly to the spine, pelvis, and hips. A tighter hip flexor on one side of the body causes one of the pelvic bones to be more anteriorly rotated than the other, holding the pelvis in a twisted position. The spine connects to the pelvis, so the effects are seen up the chain.

The spine begins to twist and side bend, and so does the rib cage. Taking it one step further, one shoulder may be higher or lower and one side of your neck may feel tighter.⁣⁣ Similar effects are seen down the chain, impacting the way your hips fit into their sockets (which can create differences in leg length) as well as the way the knees, feet, and ankles function.

The Mark is designed to apply pressure to the hard-to-reach iliacus and psoas muscles, helping to release tension and tightness in the hip flexors. When used consistently over time, the Mark may help to improve the alignment of your pelvis, which can have a positive impact on the alignment of the spine and the rest of the body.
