Can I use the Mark if I have spondylolisthesis?

Some people experience what is called spondylolisthesis, where one of the vertebrae in your lumbar spine slips forward onto the vertebra directly beneath it (e.g. L5 slips over S1, or L4 slips over L5). This condition may be present from birth, but can also develop over time as the result of wear and tear to the joints and discs in the lower back (such as from a misalignment of the spine).

Tightness in the iliacus and psoas muscles (your hip flexors) can impact lower back pain with this condition. These muscles attach directly to your lumbar spine, pelvis, and hips. When tight, these muscles can pull the pelvis forward into an anterior tilt and create pressure on the lumbar spine. This causes the lower back to arch too much and compresses the joints, which may lead to pain or tightness.

The Mark is designed to apply pressure to the iliacus and psoas muscles to help reduce tightness. When used consistently over time, the Mark can help support an improved alignment of the pelvis and lumbar spine back into a more neutral position. This can give the joints in the back more space to move and a decrease irritation, reducing your pain.
