Where do I use the Orbit?

The Orbit is used to apply pressure into the general hip flexor region to target the psoas muscle, as well as the glute region to target the piriformis and deep hip rotator muscles. We refer to the areas where you'll place the ball as the "release zone" for each muscle (represented by the model's hand in the below images).

Releasing the psoas

The psoas is accessed on the front side of the pelvis anywhere inside the pelvic bone (or ilium) and above the hip crease in the groin region.

Releasing the piriformis and deep hip rotators

The piriformis and deep hip rotator muscles are accessed on the back side of the pelvis anywhere in the glute region.

Can I use the Orbit on other areas of the body?

Absolutely! Have fun experimenting. Check out your glute area on the back side of your hips. The piriformis and other deep hip rotator muscles are commonly tight alongside a tight psoas and iliacus.
